In fact, it was your only point. We know this, because it’s all that you wrote, prior to your update. That is the point I replied to. Now you’ve gotten into something else. I’m not going to discuss with you Israel losing international support based on what it does or doesn’t do, because I’ve read enough posts from you to know you harbor some ill will towards Israel. Best to stick to the basics, under the circumstances, wouldn’t you say?

You are excellent at diverting from the main point of an article by kvetching about a minor point.

The point is, if Israel is not seen as sensible in its response — if whole households of women and children continue to die (9 out of 11 victims!) — it risks losing the support of the international community.

Thus, avoiding civilian casualties is a strategic concern for Israel, and perhaps a cease-fire would be wiser than a ground invasion. Indeed, cease-fire negotiations are underway in Cairo.

Yes. If you find it so confusing, imagine the Kurds fired hundreds of missiles at Turkish civilian population centers from Iraq, and see if you can’t figure out who is responsible for provoking a conflict. Is it hard?
