forest clearing |

| I'm imagining a forest clearing where a bunch of scientists are standing around in khaki shorts and spectacles. In another clearing not far away, joined by a footpath, naked and tan young athletes frolic at a swimming hole, drying themselves in the sun. For some reason you are among the scientists, not the other group, and the scientists are pressing you with questions. They present you with specimens they have found and ask you to classify them. Then they want you to show them your own specimens so they may comment on them. You are about to display your specimens when a bell-like peal of laughter rises over the trees from the swimming hole. Suddenly you realize there is a place nearby where you can go to have fun. But the scientists press closer around you than ever: in fact, they have crowded you out of the sun altogether. |
