schizophrenic filter We live fragmented lives, meaning we flip back and forth between "channels" representing job, family, friends, outside interests, a night on the town. We expect these channels to be compartmentalized, discreet, but the danger always exists that they will get seriously out of sync and our persona will become overburdened by their conflicting demands. Our different lives will start to bleed into each other, mutating in ways beyond our control.
