silent majority We are what has been called the silent majority. By people other than us. We are silent because we have very little to say. We support the policies of the president without question. We support him because he is the president. After all, we elected him to represent us. Those of us who voted. Actually, very few of us voted. We let those who are better informed make the decision for us. We know the democratic system works, so we let it. We try not to interfere. We are America's secret strength. Because of us, the country stays on course. We are always there, at the center of opinion. The center of opinion defines us as a nation. It is the ideal meeting place of differing opinions. It is the place where all opinions merge into silence. That is why we have nothing to say. We have already assimilated everything.
