smiling jack kennedy
A cat falls from a roof in China. A boy in the street turns, trying to catch the cat. The cat falls through his arms into the dust, shakes off the indignity and walks away. In Dallas, as a bullet moving in slow motion shatters the skull of smiling Jack Kennedy, his thoughts are moving at normal speed and he is able to feel the bullet slowly burrowing its way in. He tries to swat it away with the hand he has been waving, but finds he is frozen as if in a still frame. Slowly his brains separate and spatter in a way that, at this speed, feels almost voluptuous. Later he will have all the time in the world to replay this sequence many times.
