| Let's imagine for a moment that all our secret desires are accomplished. We have no way of knowing in advance what such a world would look like. It could be really frightful, and the chances of this are greater than that we would achieve thereby a Paradise. My sense is that the secret desires of mankind, collectively unleashed, would provoke a massacre: and not even an interesting one, just a lot of gray fungus flecked in blood. |
