| By default, the items within each zone are sorted by date, then by title. However, they can also be sorted by location, content type, or user rating in any combination. A date sort will show the most recent items first. A sort by content type will group the items into categories such as fiction, nonfiction, and photos. A location sort will arrange the items according to where they were created, starting in San Francisco and moving west to east. A sort by user rating will rank the best-liked items first, based on the scores they have received from readers using the ratings feature. Items that have never been voted on are ranked last. |

| The current settings are shown in the pull-down menus at the bottom of the page. To sort in a different order, simply choose different settings and click the small circle to the right of the menus, or hit Return. When the page refreshes, the settings in the menus will change to reflect your latest choice. You can sort by up to three different parameters at once. For example, sorting by content type, then location, then title will group all the photos together. Within this, photos from San Francisco will be grouped together, and photos from Paris will be grouped together. Photos from the same location will then be sorted by title. Your browser will need to accept cookies for you to use this feature. |
