His fingers were at the controls, but Mr. Science intervened to stop him. "Wait, Joey, you're just a boy. You don't know what you're doing," said Mr. Science sternly.
"Yes I do!" said Joey, and he pushed a big red button. "This button blows up the world. BOOM!"
"No it doesn't," said Mr. Science with relief. "That's our dummy button. It's for dummies like you who reach for the red button because it's the biggest." He grabbed Joey away from the controls and cuffed his ear. "Now you'll remember not to touch things you don't understand."
Joey started crying. "You hit me," he bawled. "You hit me."
Mr. Science took Joey by the hand and guided him firmly from the room. "It doesn't do any good to cry about it. You can't have things your way all the time."
