    Thinking Blogger Redux

The Thinking Blogger award I received from Golaniya of Decentering Damascus, then passed on to Kenza of Murmures, has now traveled through 28 more blogs to arrive at The Genetic Genealogist by Blaine Bettinger, Ph.D. True to his profession as genealogist, Dr. Bettinger has traced the lineage of his award back to its source, linking to my blog at number 29 in a chain of 70 blogs! By his calculation, the trip took 136 days. As he puts it:

My award traveled through 70 blogs before it reached me! It traveled around the world, from the U.S. to the U.K. to France to Syria and back to the U.S. The types of blogs varied widely, including genealogy, politics, social change, environmental, art, and parenting. It was a incredibly interesting trip through an “award-winning” series of blogs.

If you’re interested in how “degrees of separation” work on the internet, check out the post where Dr. Bettinger links to the complete chain of 70 blogs, including Redneck Mommy, Magic Bellybutton, Peace in the Desert and The Alien Next Door.

@Kenza — Lucky for you (us) that you were on the line that made it to him, otherwise we would never know!

That is SO COOL! The concept of the “six degrees of separation” has intrigued me for a long time! I’ve written an article on it and will post on my blog soon… :) (The Alien Next Door). Great post.
